Special Cargo Handling cc (SCH) started business as a cargo monitoring and security company at the Johannesburg International Airport on 01 March 1996. The growth of the company since its inception has been carefully albeit conservatively planned. Today, after 6 years, SCH can look back with pride on its achievements of reducing its client’s cargo losses to virtually zero level, whilst also minimising damages.

The specialised cargo monitoring and security services performed by SCH on the airside of the Johannesburg International Airport was over a relatively short period acknowledged by its clients as highly effective and successful. As a result, and at the request of clients, SCH ventured into the delivery, escorting, warehouse administration and container inspections of its clients cargo since June 1997. SCH provides an all encompassing technology driven monitoring and security service, from the aircraft to the clients / agents warehouse and to also to the consumer market. This is a full door to door service. The last mentioned services have also been acclaimed as highly successful.

The effectiveness of the SCH operations in curtailing cargo losses and minimising cargo damages for its clients and had an appreciable impact on the various cargo warehouses as well the Airports Company South Africa, who has ultimate responsibility for security at its airports. It is for this reason that SCH enjoys the freedom of operation at all airline warehouses. SCH is also one of the only six companies being granted a permit to operate at both the airside and landside at all the major airports in South Africa.
